My Glog shows the evolution of the definition of Educational Technology from 1963-to present day by arrows leading to a mini-collage of each year. Each mini-collage is represented by the year, the definition and a media representation of technology used in classrooms that year. Also, by clicking on the year, it takes readers to the history of AECT during that time frame. This set up led me to learn a lot about the definition, the history of AECT and the types of technology used at each time in history. I was surprised to learn that 40% of classrooms had television sets in 1963. Towards the end of the Glog construction it struck me how much Educational Technology has changed over the years. Not in just the definition, but in that it has moved more toward a student-based use of the technology from an instructor-led use of technology. I think the media in my Glog reflected this change as it began with a television set and ended with a video of children using the iPads and iPod touches individually. This was a great assignment! I feel I will be able to take this back to my schools and lead my staff into a new technology the students will be able to use!

2.4 Integrated Technologies
Integrated technologies are ways to produce and deliver materials which encompass several forms of media under the control of a computer.
This artifact meets Standard 2.4 as a way to deliver materials with several forms of media by using a computer. Glogster gives the author opportunities to add every type of media into the collage. I was able to incorporate video, pictures and links to outside websites in my Glog. This enables the Glog to give a multimedia approach to delivering the topic of the Evolution of Educational Technology Definitions.
